Licensed C-17 glazing contractor
We fix broken and cracked glass
Roxy Glass repairs and replaces window glass, foggy double pane units, shower glass, mirrors, patio doors and commercial storefronts. We measure the opening, cut or order the right glass, and fit it. In most cases the glass is replaced and your existing frame stays exactly where it is.
Free estimates, no obligation. Check whether we cover your city.

| What you can see | What it means | Service |
|---|---|---|
| There is fog, mist or a cloudy film between two panes | The seal on that sealed glass unit has failed and moisture is now inside the gap between the panes. It cannot be cleaned out. The glass unit is replaced and your existing frame and sash stay where they are. | Double Pane Glass Replacement |
| A pane is cracked but still in one piece | A cracked pane can usually be replaced on its own, leaving the frame and hardware alone. Cracks spread with temperature changes, so it is worth booking before it becomes a shattered pane. | Window Glass Repair |
| A window has shattered and the opening is exposed | The first job is to make the opening safe and secure. We clear the broken glass, board the opening, then measure for the replacement glass, because most large panes are made to order. | Emergency Board Up |
| A storefront or shop window is broken | A broken storefront needs securing before anything else, then the permanent glass is measured and made. Storefront glass is tempered or laminated and is nearly always made to order for the opening. | Emergency Board Up |
| A sliding patio door panel is broken or will not glide | Patio door glass has to be tempered safety glass by code, so it is cut to size and made rather than taken off a shelf. A door that has become heavy or jumps is usually rollers and track rather than glass. | Glass Doors and Patio Doors |
| The frame is rotten, rusted or will not close and lock | When the frame itself has failed, replacing only the glass puts new glass into a failed frame. A complete replacement window fits into the existing opening and fixes the sealing and the operation at the same time. | Window Replacement |
| I want to replace or install a shower door | Shower glass is measured after tiling and cut to the real opening, because bathroom openings are rarely perfectly square. That is what makes a frameless door close properly and seal. | Shower Doors and Enclosures |
| A mirror is cracked, or I need mirror fitted to a wall | Mirror is cut to your wall, including cut outs for outlets and switches, and fixed with adhesive, clips or a cleat depending on the wall and the weight. | Mirrors and Closet Doors |
| I want a glass railing, balcony panel or pool fence | Railing glass is a guard, so it is tempered or laminated safety glass set into a system engineered to carry the load that code requires for that location. | Glass Railings and Pool Fences |
| I need to divide an office or commercial space with glass | Glass partitions divide a floor without closing it in. They are measured to the real site conditions, because floors and ceilings are rarely dead level across a long run. | Glass Partition Walls |

Who we work for
Most of our residential work comes from three situations: something broke, a double pane window has fogged up, or a bathroom or deck is being remodeled and needs new glass. Most of our commercial work is storefront glass, office partitions and mirror walls, plus board ups when a window goes in overnight.
If you manage rental property or a portfolio of units, we can work from measurements you send us and coordinate access with your tenants.
A cracked pane, a shattered window or a storefront that is open to the street. Call and we will tell you whether it needs boarding first.
Fog between the panes is a failed seal. It is a glass unit replacement, not a new window, and your frame stays in place.
Shower enclosures, mirrors, railings and partitions are measured on site after the tiling or framing is done, then cut to the real opening.
The work itself
Someone looks at the actual opening, the glass is cut to it at our Newark shop, and it is fitted and checked before we leave.
What happens next
Glass is cut to the opening, not bought off a shelf, so the sequence below is what every job follows. Knowing it up front is what makes the timing predictable.
Call the line for your area or send the estimate form. A photo of the damage and a rough measurement lets us tell you straight away whether it is a glass only repair or a full replacement.
Glass is cut to the opening, not to a catalog size, so the measurement has to be exact. For most jobs we measure on site. For a simple pane you can measure it yourself and we will tell you how.
The estimate is free and it sets out the glass type, the thickness, whether safety glazing is required and what the work involves. Nothing is ordered until you approve it.
Standard glass is usually cut at our Newark shop. Sealed double pane units, tempered glass and made to order shapes are fabricated to your measurements, which is what sets the lead time.
We fit the glass, check that it seals and operates properly, and take the old glass and packaging away with us.

Decision support
Every glass company that publishes a price online is quoting a size and a specification you probably do not have. Glass is priced by area, by type and by how hard it is to reach, and a building code requirement for safety glazing can change the material entirely.
Rather than publish a number that will be wrong for your opening, here is what genuinely moves the price, so you can judge an estimate from anyone, including us.
| Factor | Why it matters |
|---|---|
| Size of the pane | Glass is priced by area, and a large pane also needs more people to handle and fit safely. |
| Single pane or sealed unit | A single pane is cut from stock. A sealed double pane unit is manufactured to your exact size, which costs more and takes longer. |
| Whether code requires safety glazing | Openings next to doors, in bathrooms, in doors themselves and below certain heights require tempered or laminated safety glass. That is not optional and it changes the material cost. |
| Frame material and condition | Wood, aluminum and vinyl sashes each come apart differently. A frame that has failed needs replacing rather than reglazing. |
| Access to the opening | Ground floor and openable is straightforward. Upper floors, fixed picture windows and anything needing a lift takes longer and more people. |

Common questions
Yes, in most cases. If the frame, sash and hardware are still sound, Roxy Glass replaces only the glass and leaves your existing window in place. That is faster and costs less than a full window replacement. A complete new window is only needed when the frame itself has failed, for example when it is rotted, rusted, bent or no longer sealing.
Fog between panes means the seal around that sealed glass unit has failed and moisture has entered the sealed gap. It cannot be cleaned, because the moisture is inside the unit and no surface cleaning can reach it. The fix is to replace the sealed glass unit. The frame and sash stay where they are.
Roxy Glass serves cities across Santa Clara County, San Mateo County, Alameda County, Contra Costa County, San Francisco and southern Marin County from . Five regional phone lines route calls to the right team. Use the city checker on the service areas page to confirm your city and get the correct number.
Roxy Glass does not publish fixed prices, because glass is priced by the opening in front of us. The size of the pane, whether it is single or sealed double pane, whether safety glazing is required by code, the frame material and the access all change the number. Estimates are free, so the fastest way to get a real figure is to send measurements and a photo or have us measure.
Yes. Roxy Glass, Inc. holds California contractor license 1001561 with classification C-17 Glazing, issued on 26 February 2015 and currently in clear status with the Contractors State License Board. A contractor bond and workers compensation coverage are recorded against the same license. You can check all of it on the CSLB website.
It depends on the glass. Standard clear glass in a common size is often cut at our Newark shop and fitted quickly. Sealed double pane units, tempered safety glass and made to order shapes have to be fabricated to your measurements, which takes longer. When an opening is not secure, we board it up first so the property is safe while the permanent glass is made.
